Overall Score

Ketley engineering bricks are manufactured from UK-sourced clays and shales using extrusion or soft-mud moulding processes, followed by high-temperature kiln firing. They are primarily intended for structural masonry applications where durability and loadbearing performance are required. Typical uses include external cavity walls, internal fair-faced brickwork, freestanding walls and civil engineering structures. Performance characteristics vary by specific brick type, but all products conform to BS EN 771-1 for clay masonry units. Brickwork is inherently durable with very long service life and minimal maintenance, typically limited to mortar repointing. Bricks are supplied as standard units compatible with conventional mortar systems. As a fired clay product, bricks are dimensionally stable, non-combustible and resistant to weathering. Manufacturing and distribution are UK-based, and lifecycle assessment data is provided through a verified generic UK brick EPD, supporting informed specification decisions.
