Søuld Acoustic Boards are manufactured in Denmark from dried eelgrass fibres combined with a mineral-based flame retardant and a synthetic adhesive using a non-woven hot-press process. The boards are intended for acoustic treatment of interior walls and ceilings and are designed to be permanently integrated into building constructions. The product is described by the manufacturer as resistant to mould and rot, supporting durability in humid indoor environments, although no quantified mechanical, acoustic, or service life performance is declared in the EPD. Boards are supplied as rigid mats in standard dimensions and are intended to be integrated behind or within wall and ceiling build-ups rather than used as exposed finish surfaces. The material is bio-based with a high biogenic carbon content and moderate density. An independently verified Environmental Product Declaration in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804+A2 is available, documenting cradle-to-gate impacts with end-of-life incineration and energy recovery.
