Overall Score

Lunawood ThermoWood® panels (class LunaThermo-D) are produced using a patented thermal modification process developed in Finland. The wood is carefully heated to 212°C using only heat and steam with no chemicals used at any stage. This natural process alters the wood’s structure, enhancing its performance and making it completely non-toxic. As a result, Lunawood panels offer exceptional durability and stability even in demanding climates, with minimal maintenance requirements compared to untreated timber. Lunawood ThermoWood can be left untreated to weather naturally to a beautiful silver-gray patina, or finished with paints, stains, or natural oils. The company recommends breathable, water-based, and environmentally safe finishes for optimal performance and sustainability. Lunawood ThermoWood panels are available globally through an established network of distributors, with strong availability across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific regions. Lunawood products are sourced from sustainably managed Nordic forests and hold PEFC™ certification. The ThermoWood process has a low environmental footprint and comes with verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), contributing to green building certifications such as LEED and BREEAM.
