These factory‑prefabricated wall panels integrate a timber stud frame filled with straw insulation and overlaid with a wood‑fibre and timber layer. They are used for external and internal wall assemblies in new build or retrofit projects, offering air‑tight and vapour‑permeable construction suitable for passive‑house standard homes. Their composite construction sequesters CO₂, stores heat and moisture, and delivers long‑term stability and low maintenance because the natural materials reduce risk of moisture damage and degradation. Different surface finishes (e.g., clay or lime plaster internally, ventilated facade externally) can be specified, allowing healthy breathable finishes to match design preferences. By removing synthetic insulation and using straw and timber, the panels improve indoor comfort, regulate humidity and remove typical resin‑rich board layers. Available across Europe (including the UK) and beyond via EcoCocon’s supply network. The system is Cradle‑to‑Cradle certified, uses FSC timber, and qualifies as a Passivhaus component with certified high performance and minimal embodied carbon.
